Monday on Magna Radio brought plenty of games, great music and a busy week ahead across Mark, John and Adam’s shows.

Mark’s Show

The Six Thirty Two featured a double play from Pulp, with two tracks back-to-back. The feature returns tomorrow at 6:30am with another artist double.

First Words
“You gave me something like loving, and took me in so soon”
This one had plenty of correct guesses, including Mike Swallow.
The answer was Texas with Inner Smile. More lyrics to guess just before 7am tomorrow.

Just a Sec
A short clip that was quickly identified by Lisa and her husband, along with Daz and Cara.
The track was Jesus Jones with International Bright Young Thing. A brand new clip lands just after 7am tomorrow.

Mind the Gap
Listeners were challenged to spot the missing word from a Stacey Solomon clip.
Rick in Lincoln got it right with the word “Scottish”. Another round is coming tomorrow at 8:15am.

The Lincs Link
Today’s link, suggested by Tina, featured Sheryl Crow, Taylor Swift and Housemartins.
The connection was that they are all types of birds. Well done to Sam, Tasha, Jodie and everyone else who got it right. A new themed trio arrives tomorrow at 9:30am.

John’s Show

After a week away enjoying plenty of indulgent food, John is back on a healthy eating mission. Breakfast is off the menu and lunch is now a salmon salad.

It is a busy week ahead. Monday sees John on the squash court. Tuesday and Wednesday he is hosting a quiz. Thursday he is hosting the Lincolnshire Business Awards. Friday it is Bingo and Banter at Maltby Le Marsh. Saturday he will be at Tension Twisted Realities in Lincoln for an Alive and Kicking 80s tribute night. By Sunday, a lie in is definitely needed.

Looking ahead to the end of the week, Sophie Bell from the Mablethorpe Ice Cream Company joins as Friday’s co-host. The big question is whether she will bring ice cream with her.

Topical Tune
New research suggests that more couples are not talking openly about money, including investments, pensions and savings. That set the theme for today’s Topical Tune.

  1. Kanye West – Gold Digger (Janet in Metheringham)
  2. Primal Scream – Loaded (Sarah and Kate in Louth)
  3. Donna Summer – She Works Hard For The Money (Jack in Skegness)
  4. Tony Rich – Nobody Knows It But Me (Jane in Hykeham)
  5. Madonna – Secret (Shelia in Grantham)

Adam on Magna Mix

The Magna Mindblower delivered a brilliant fact to start the week. In hot weather, the Eiffel Tower can grow by around 15cm as the metal expands in the heat.

The Magna Charter returned with Law 25.
Crime: Hogging both armrests on an aeroplane like a throne.
Punishment: You must sit through the flight with your elbows tucked in, holding the in-flight safety card and unable to leave your seat for the rest of the journey.

The Magna Fourplay challenged listeners with four words: Turkey, False, Baby, Gold.
The connection was Teeth.

Adam is back tomorrow on Magna Mix with another Mindblower, a brand new law in the Magna Charter and another round of Magna Fourplay.
