Mark’s Show Recap – Elton, Teasers and Tough Questions

Mark brought another packed show to Magna Radio today, full of great music, tricky teasers and plenty of listener interaction.

At 6:30, The Six Thirty Two delivered a double play from James, bringing two tracks back-to-back to get the day started. If you enjoyed that, there is more of the same lined up today.

First Words proved popular, with plenty of you quick to jump in with the correct answer. The lyrics:
“Meeting Mr. Right, the man of my dreams, the one who shows me true love, or at least it seems”
were correctly identified as Ce Ce Peniston – Finally. Shoutouts to Fiona in Gosberton, Thomas in Newark, Chris in Grimsby and many more who got involved. Another round returns just before 7am.

Not everything was so easy though.

Just a Sec had everyone guessing. It was day two of the new clip and still no correct answers, despite some strong attempts and a few wild guesses. The clip returns today with a slightly longer snippet just after 7am.

It was a similar story for Mind the Gap at 8:15. Featuring a clip from the World Athletics Championships, no one managed to spot the missing word. There is another chance to crack it today.

One that did get plenty of correct answers was The Lincs Link. The trio of Kiki Dee, George Michael and Queen all shared a connection. They have all duetted with Sir Elton John. Well done to Lisa, Noz, Vicky in Birchwood and everyone else who got it right. A new themed trio lands at 9:30 today.

And speaking of Elton John, the show also celebrated his birthday with a very unscientific poll to find his greatest ever song. Plenty of debate and plenty of opinions, but Step Into Christmas seemed to be a firm favourite.
