It’s been another packed morning across Magna, with plenty of music, games and a special final show from the road with John.

Mark’s Breakfast Show

The Six Thirty Two delivered a double play from M People, with two tracks from the same artist getting your morning off to a strong start. It returns tomorrow at 6.30am.

First Words had you listening closely, with the opening line “Look around everywhere you turn is heartache, it’s everywhere that you go” correctly guessed by Chris in Grimsby, Lisa in Lincoln and others. Another round lands just before 7am tomorrow.

Just a Sec kept everyone guessing. Day two’s tiny snippet, just a beat and a half, ruled out guesses including Gnarls Barkley, Rihanna, New Order and Johnny Hates Jazz. A slightly longer clip plays tomorrow just after 7am.

Mind the Gap featured Oscar winner Jessie Buckley. There were plenty of guesses including “journey”, “honour”, “privilege”, “gift” and “opportunity”, but Kel and Kev got it right with collision. A brand new round returns at 8.15am.

The Lincs Link brought together The Smiths, Kylie and Julian Cope, with the theme being facial features. Well done to Sam in Sibsey, Julie in Mablethorpe and everyone else who got it. Another three-song connection drops at 9.30am tomorrow.

John’s Show: Live from Sheffield

Thursday marked John’s final show on the road, broadcasting from his hotel room in Sheffield city centre as Scouting For Girls prepared for another night on their sold-out UK tour.

The show featured the third and final part of his chat with the band, along with a play of their brand new single Get What You Give.

After a week on tour, John will be back in the Magna studio for Friday’s show.

The Daily Dozen

The Daily Dozen, in partnership with the Tyrwhitt Arms, Short Ferry, returned this week with local businesses taking on Scouting For Girls.

Monday saw Julie and Summer from Scentiments Floral Design, Spilsby score 4 out of 12.

On Tuesday, Dacia and Taylor from STACK Lincoln also scored 4 out of 12.

Wednesday featured Stewart from Tension Twisted Realities, Lincoln, again scoring 4 out of 12.

Thursday’s team, Tammi, Rich and Katie from The Bistro Bar & Kitchen, Market Rasen matched the score with another 4 out of 12.

Tomorrow, it’s Scouting For Girls stepping up to take on the quiz.

Topical Tune

Today’s topic looked at how your walk can reveal how you’re really feeling, with research suggesting emotions can be picked up before someone even speaks.

The final five:

  1. Val Doonican – Walk Tall (Danny in Lincoln)

  2. No Doubt – Don’t Speak (Julie in Hykeham)

  3. Four Seasons – Walk Like A Man (Jane in Boston)

  4. Maroon 5 – Moves Like Jagger (Donna in Sleaford)

  5. Run DMC & Aerosmith – Walk This Way (James in Ollerton)

Make sure you’re listening again tomorrow morning across Magna for more.
