Thursday on Magna Radio brought another packed morning with Mark kicking things off bright and early.

The Six Thirty Two featured a double play from Savage Garden, with another two-from-one lined up for tomorrow at 6:30. First Words had listeners quickly on the case, with “I was born long ago, I am the chosen, I’m the one” correctly identified as Lenny Kravitz’s Are You Gonna Go My Way. Chris, Vicky and Cazzy were among those who got it right, and there’s more lyric guessing just before 7am tomorrow.

Just a Sec moved into day two of the current clip, and Steve from GRS Signs nailed it with 4 Non Blondes’ What’s Up?, meaning a brand new clip will be played just after 7am tomorrow. Over on Mind the Gap, after a full week of near misses, Rick in Lincoln finally cracked it with the word “logistics”, so that resets with a fresh snippet around 8:15am.

The Lincs Link brought together Queen, Elton John and Michael Jackson, with the connection being that all three artists have had films made about them. Another themed trio arrives at 9:30am tomorrow.

Meanwhile, John had listeners entertained with a slightly more personal story. After being told he looked red-faced over the past few days, he traced the issue back to a new moisturiser he had been trying in an effort to keep his skin looking youthful. Unfortunately, it now looks like his most expensive skincare purchase yet may be heading for the bin.

Looking ahead to Friday, John will be joined by the team from Lincoln Free Walking Tour as co-hosts between 12 and 1pm, sharing some fascinating stories from Lincoln’s history.

The Topical Tune focused on the idea that it really is a dog’s life, with many Brits admitting their pet has its own seat in the living room. The countdown played out as follows:

5 Kylie Minogue ‘Get Outta My Way’ – Shelly in Gainsborough

4 Lene Marlin ‘I’m Sitting Down Here’ – Tina, Pete and Hooch in Hykeham

3 James Brown ‘Get Up Offa That Thing’ – Oliver in Newark

2 Coldplay ‘In My Place’ – Chris in Grimsby

1 Wamdue Project ‘King Of My Castle’ – Helen in Cleethorpes

Another strong day across Magna Radio, with plenty more games, music and guests lined up for the rest of the week.
