More than £200,000 awarded to projects in Boston Borough through first round of the Pride in Place Impact Fund
Grants of more than £200,000 have been awarded to projects across Boston through the Pride in Place Impact Fund.
From Boston Woods Trust to Benington Parish Council, the successful projects all meet the Council’s aim of delivering long lasting improvements to everyday places and the spaces that matter most to residents.
Grants of up to £75,000 have been made available through the programme under three separate funds, supported by HM Government through the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, and applicants were asked to match the funding where possible.
With match funding of £408,290, the total amount invested in the Borough in this round totals £615,167.
A total of £206,877 in grants has been awarded to:
Blackfriars Arts Centre Limited – Funding to bring the Cheers building in Boston back into use through sensitive refit and light touch restoration. Substantial match funding has been secured from Lincolnshire County Council to create a pop-up museum in the currently vacant unit.
Boston Woods Trust – A new all-weather car and cycle parking facility to serve Joan's Wood. The new car park is required to support growing visitor numbers, provide safe access and accommodate future users.
Benington Parish Council – New safety fencing and gates around the children’s play area on Benington Playing Field to improve safety and security for those who use it.
Boston Town Football Club – Funding towards replacing the existing natural grass pitch with a full-size FA-standard 3G artificial pitch at the club’s stadium on Tattershall Road.
RSPB Explorers Basecamp, Freiston Shore – Refurbishing the Wildlife Explorers Basecamp including new storage facilities, pond restoration, landscaping, wildflower planting and accessible outdoor seating.
