BarrowFest brings village together for another summer celebration
Hundreds of people gathered in Barrow-upon-Humber as BarrowFest returned with live entertainment, family activities, food and drink, and community celebrations. Organised by volunteers from Barrow Events Group, the festival brought residents, local businesses and community groups together, with North Lincolnshire Council supporting the event through a £3,000 Community Grant Fund award. Cllr Rob Waltham praised the volunteers behind the event, saying the funding showed how a relatively small amount can make a visible difference when put into the hands of committed local people.

Birchwood’s Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board has now been fully appointed, with Gregory Hughes as Chair and Gary Smith and Martin Hickerton as Co-Deputy Chairs. The Board will work with City of Lincoln Council and MP Hamish Falconer to shape how £20 million of Government funding is invested in Birchwood over the next 10 years. The programme will be community-led, with residents’ priorities helping to guide improvements to local spaces, strengthen the community and create new opportunities.

Friends take on 122-mile Lincolnshire coast path challenge for air ambulance charity
Two Grantham friends, Luke Davies and Kennzo Southwell, are set to run the entire 196km (122-mile) Lincolnshire stretch of the King Charles III England Coast Path from Sutton Bridge to the Humber Bridge this weekend, raising money for Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance. After seven to eight months of training, the pair will run for up to 12 hours a day across Saturday and Sunday, including taking part in Boston Parkrun during the challenge. They hope to raise as much as possible for the charity while highlighting the lifesaving work of its crews across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.
Rosegarth Square to officially open this September
Rosegarth Square in Boston will officially open on September 19, celebrating the transformation of a key gateway to the town centre into a modern, accessible public space. The £17.1 million regeneration, funded through £14.8 million from the UK Government and £2.3 million from Boston Partnership Funding, includes The Wave artwork, restored Five Lamps, amphitheatre seating and the restored Boston Buoys. Residents, businesses and community stakeholders are invited to the free family-friendly event, with further details to be announced on Boston Borough Council’s social media channels.
