Sleaford-on-Sea returns with popular pop-up beach for longer this summer
Get ready for fun in the sun when the Sleaford-on-Sea pop-up beach returns to the Market Place for a longer period this summer.
After the event’s success in 2025, it will now return for a full four-week period between 25 July and 23 August.
There will be Heart of Lincs buckets and spades that can be collected from the Market Square Cafe, along with some deckchairs. The new brash structure has been built by local company Hatchers & Sons, giving it extra longevity for future years.
Take a trip to the ‘seaside’ for a family fun day between 11am-4pm on Saturday, 8 August, including free helter-skelter rides, a high striker test your strength activity, and Punch & Judy shows.
Bubble performances, balloon activities, free children’s craft, and performances by Chelsey Bamford will ensure there is plenty of fun for everyone to enjoy. In addition, there will also be tasty fish and chips to whet your appetite from Lincolnshire Fryer.
Heart of Lincs, Cranwell Aviation Heritage Museum, GLL and the RNLI will all have stalls at the event, which will have an NK Young Traders market running alongside it. You can apply to take part in the NK Young Traders market via the Council website at https://www.n-kesteven.gov.uk/visitors-leisure/markets.
Councillor Richard Wright, Leader of North Kesteven District Council, said: “Sleaford-on-Sea was one of our most popular events last year so it is great to see this fun and free seaside attraction returning to the Market Place again for even longer this summer.
“Last year the pop-up beach saw a 45% increase in footfall at the Market Place compared to the previous 18 day period so hopefully, not only will this be a great event for residents and visitors, but also boost the local economy and help Sleaford businesses to thrive.”
Meanwhile, a mini taster beach will be transported to Heckington Show on 25 and 26 July as part of the Council’s showcase of free and low-cost fun activities through the summer.
