A free family fun day, celebrating the environment, takes place on Friday 7 August in Sutton-on-Sea, Lincolnshire - and it includes a large, inflatable whale!
The 'Whale of a Day' event returns for the third year running and is supported by Arts Council England and the East Lindsey Investment Fund (ELIF).
ELIF is a £20 million scheme set up in 2024 by East Lindsey District Council to improve life for everyone across the district.
The whale measures 50 feet (15 metres) and will be on the beach at Sutton-on-Sea, between 10.30am and 4pm on 7 August.
Visitors can learn about the environment and protecting our seas during the free event. Free slots to go inside the inflatable whale can be booked online via Eventbrite (see link below). The Seaview Colonnade will also be offering craft events on the day.
'Story Tellers'
The 'Whale of a Day' is part of the Story Tellers project, the South & East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership's Arts Council England NPO project, which supports the arts, heritage and creativity.
Councillor Graham Marsh, East Lindsey District Council's representative on the Story Tellers Culture Board, said: "This is a wonderful opportunity for the whole family to learn more about our seas and ocean's environment and ways to help protect our planet.
"I hope as many people as possible come along to enjoy this free family day at Sutton-on-Sea, supported by Arts Council England and East Lindsey District Council, through the Investment Fund."
