What a way to kick off the week. Today's show had one of my favourite new features taking centre stage, "Found It On Facebook Marketplace," where I read out genuine listings from the site and you have to guess the asking price. And this week the listings did not disappoint.
We had a life-size cardboard cut out of Danny DeVito, a battle-hardened veteran of a stag do and a wedding, with a few jewels stuck to his face and some minor scuffs to show for it. Then a signed Sabrina Carpenter vinyl set, the full Man's Best Friend bundle straight from her official site. And finally a set of five hand-painted Russian nesting dolls, the largest standing at 16cm tall. The combined total came to £160.
Lucy and Olivia from the Magna team joined me in the studio to have a go, and Lucy was the closest guesser in the building with £85. Our closest listener was Laura in Grantham, who guessed £150. Well played both of you.
We also played Topical Tune, where you suggest a song to match a news story. Today's story was about how greeting a stranger with a hug rather than a handshake could make them like you more. Simon in Horncastle took the top spot with Thompson Twins' Hold Me Now, beating out some brilliant suggestions from Danny in Spilsby, Dave in Spilsby, Pete the drummer, and Phil in Lincoln.
