New rules on contracts for how Boston Borough Council buys goods and services and pays for works undertaken, have been introduced.
It is part of the Council’s commitment to spending public money fairly, openly and responsibly so that the process is modern, transparent and fully compliant with current legislation.
The Contract Procedure Rules help protect public money and ensure procurement decisions are made properly, consistently and with accountability.
Councillor Sandeep Ghosh, Council Portfolio Holder for Finance, said: “The rules have been devised to give residents confidence that Council spending delivers value, while providing businesses with a fair and transparent process.
“The updated rules also strengthen opportunities for local suppliers and, where possible, Council officers are encouraged to seek quotations from local businesses."
The revised guidance makes it easier for suppliers to understand how to collaborate with the Council and compete for upcoming opportunities.
