Food waste collections to begin in Boston this October

Weekly food waste collections across Boston Borough will begin from the week commencing 19 October 2026, following delays to vehicle deliveries and collection round reviews. From 26 October, side waste will no longer be collected, with all waste and recycling required to fit inside the appropriate bins.

Horncastle has been selected as East Lindsey’s first pilot Age-Friendly town, with councils developing a new business award scheme and community initiatives to improve accessibility and inclusion for older residents. The result recognises significant improvements to the visitor experience, including a 93% Attraction score and perfect 100% scores for Cleanliness and Retail. Recent investment in the welcome area, retail space, signage and branding has helped strengthen the museum’s offering.
